Kirk Kara has enriched his distinct sense of design over
several decades, drawing upon influences dating back to his great grandfather's
day. He recalls the magical sights, smells and sensations of the 1890s workshop
where his grandfather taught the craft to his father. It was in this workshop
that Kirk Kara discovered his passion for jewelry design at a very early age and
mastered the skills and techniques he applies to his designs today.
During the summer of 1965, Kirk Kara began his apprenticeship
under the guidance of his father, Artin, a master jeweler. He ventured into the
trade when jewelry making was an art, and there were no shortcuts to perfection
.Kirk Kara developed an eye for selecting quality diamonds and gemstones, and
mastered every step of the crafting process from caring waxes to setting stones
to hand engraving each individual piece. He spent his evenings in the workshop
and eventually began designing jewelry and establishing his own clientele.
Today, Kirk Kara's attention to detail and strong imagination aid in the
creation of heirlooms that exhibit years of hands-on experience and love of the
art.
